The Aristocats Club Newsletter
Hello All!
The Aristocats Clubs membership is building up nicely. We have had over
150 members join in the last twenty one months, increasing your clubs
votes to 4 in the 'right to vote' formula at the Felis Britannica Annual
General Assembly. In order for us to reach the next level (5 votes) we
need to have a membership of 250 plus, based on the membership rate to
date, this is more than achievable by the end of the year so give
yourselves a pat on the back and keep spreading the word and if you have
any friends that you think may like to join, let them know about us.
Registrations
Congratulations once again to Rose who keeps the turnover of registrations to
less than a week, providing all the documentation is there when they arrive of
course. The turnaround from FB is approximately the same so most members are
receiving a turnaround of registrations in 2-3 weeks. Well done Rose
Aristocats Club Shows
I hope everybody is enjoying the shows that the Aristocats Club are putting
on, I have done my best as Show Manager at these shows but unfortunately they
have started to take a downward trend. Our first show at Thornbury, Bristol was
amazing, the first show ever and we had 170 entries. Our 2nd show at Salisbury
was even more amazing 210 entries the highest entry so far in an FB show. The
3rd show in Bognor Regis I have to admit was badly dated, there were so many
other shows happening around that date it was bound to bring the entry level
down, so much so that at one stage I had to make an appeal for more entries in
order that we didn’t have to ask for dispensation from FIFe. The minimum number
of entries for an International Show is 150. But thanks to you all that came
through, we actually reached 158. The 4th show back at Thornbury, I once again
had to make an appeal and we reached 157 but less than last year. The next show
will be held once again at Salisbury Sunday October 9th 2005. The theme this
year is the ‘Newspaper Special’ Black & white and Red all over, I intend to have
some side-classes on the day for a change, cat with the longest tail, tallest
ears, etc. If t he support is not there this time I will have to stand down as
Show Manager and give someone else a go. I will still be there behind the scenes
if needed, but the club cannot afford to continually stand losses. This time I
am also asking for a list of helpers on show-day, we need as much help as we can
get and I would like to put some names to the jobs, if we get enough names we
can limit the amount of time each person needs to spend on the jobs.
The other request I have is for donations to the raffle.
I have said this before, but we have over 150 members, one cat entered from
each member would ensure that we wouldn’t have to worry about whether we needed
dispensation or not and an early entry would not only take away the worry that
is there at present, but would also earn you additional discount
A copy entry form and schedule is enclosed as usual. DON’T MISS OUT ON THE
SPECIAL MEMBERS RATES.
